Saroja scores a century

was a grand celebration of the landmark achievement of a film in a jinxed 2008.

'Saroja', with no formidable cast, was among the more anticipated films of last year, and it sure didn't disappoint!

Celebrating the film's 100 days, just the way the Venkat Prabhu-RJ Siva-Premgi Amaren- Yuvan Shankar Raja combination celebrated their previous hit, 'Chennai 600028'.

'Saroja's 100 day celebrations, held on Tuesday at Kamarajar Arangam, made up for the lack of a heavy star ensemble in the film, with many of the film frat's leading luminaries, from Suriya to Silambarasan, participating in it.

"The film deserves to be celebrated simply because it was a great blend of all ingredients from humour to a strong storyline," said actor Suriya.

Silambarasan, whose Simbhu Cine Arts purchased the Madurai rights of the film, says he was sure of the film's success.

Actress Sneha also complimented the team on making such an entertainer and confirmed her involvement in their next film, 'Goa'.

But the film wasn't only about celebrations. The movie makers duly acknowledged the loss of their sound engineer, H Shridar, who passed away on December 1 and even screened a small presentation on him.
