Will Ajith & Surya give Silambarasan company?

With Deepavali hardly a month away, the race has begun to get movies into theaters in time for the festival weekend. At the moment, however there is only one confirmed entrant for the Deepavali weekend and that happens to be Silambarasan’s Silambattam. He will be searching for an elusive hit and Silambattam seems to have the right credentials
Silambarasan
for the same. The movie will feature Silambarasan in a dual role for the first time after Manmadhan.

Meanwhile, with Silambattam as the sole confirmed entrant, at least three others are bending their backs to get into theaters for what will be a fairly quite Deepavali. Bharath’s Seval under the direction of commercial rural action king Hari is almost ready and the promos are already on air suggesting the usual Hari fare of action in the village milieu. The rugged looks of Bharath have drawn attention. Also Hari’s impeccable record when it comes to action flicks has made the movie go a bit high on the expectation meter.

But, all eyes are on the other two gearing up for release. Vaaranam Aayiram and Aegan may clash on Deepavali for sparks to fly, if everything goes as planned. Reports suggest that the works are progressing with fervor to meet the date and nothing can be said as yet. But, with the music released and the promos on air, Vaaranam Aayiram seems to be the more bankable option to make it for the festival season, but Aegan can by no means be ruled out. One need not talk about the expectations that these two movies have generated and if they do face off, it will be one great Deepavali.

The Gollapudi Srinivas National award comprises a memento and a purse of Rs. 1.5 lakhs and it will be received by Aamir today (12/08/08) at a function that is scheduled to be held at the Kamaraj Arangam at 6:30 pm.

What Surya/Vishal could not do, Jayam Ravi has

Jananathan, presently busy with Peraanmai, feels that the current generation of actors are doing very well and are a dedicated lot. Speaking about Jayam Ravi, the hero in Peraanmai, Jananathan said that he had also developed a six pack, toeing in line with Surya and Vishal. However, Jayam Ravi's six pack did not create an adverse impact on his
Jayam Ravi

face as it did to most of the bodybuilders. Jananathan also added that the six pack suited Jayam Ravi very well.

The director said that he would travel to the US to scout for a suitable villain. Jananathan has certain specifications that are a must for his villain in Peraanmai. They are: the villain must be a foreigner and he should also sport a six pack like his hero Jayam Ravi. Any takers out there?

I am happy to be Surya mother - Simran

Simran who is cast as young Surya’s mother is happy with her character in the movie Vaaranam Ayiram. Discussing the role in the movie, the actress is excited as the father of young Surya and her husband in Vaaranam Aayiram is Surya himself. When director Gautham menon narrrated the story to her, she could see a lot of scope to her character and hence readily agreed to it.

Marriage and motherhood has not changed the actress a lot who says her passion is acting and she loves being in front of the camera once again. Marriage and Motherhood was never a barrier to her acting. She is once again back to what she loves doing the most, acting. Her husband, parents and in-laws are most supportive of her.
